My friends and I went to a hotel room after prom.
My mom and dad rented the hotel room using their credit card.
They told me not to let anyone trash the room, because they were going to be responsible for any damages that occurred. My friends and I were not legally old enough to rent a hotel room on our own. We were only 17 and 18 years old. My parents checked us into the room and gave me a key to the hotel before the prom. When my boyfriend and I got to the room, we turned on the AC unit. It was very warm and humid inside of the room and we were expecting a few more friends to join us. Someone brought beers and we started drinking. The more I drank, the warmer it felt inside of the hotel room. I told my boyfriend to turn down the temperature of the AC unit. It was at 67° when the machine started leaking. I immediately thought that we did something wrong. The AC unit was not leaking before we adjusted the temperature. I wanted to call the front desk to fix the problem with the AC unit, but I was worried. My boyfriend said it would be better to call someone as soon as the AC started leaking, but I never said anything at all. I don’t think that my mom and dad were charged any money, because they never said anything to me about the room after we checked out. The AC issues must not have been that important.
