The access to my filter tray is tricky in my condo

I’m really loving my new condominium.

I thought I wouldn’t ever feel comfortable in an apartment again after I started renting houses in my late 20s.

I loved the extra space and the privacy from neighbors, neither of which could be afforded to me in any of the apartments I had rented up to that time. Although it is technically an apartment, this condominium feels a lot more like a house. I live on the end of a strip of six units that are all connected. Imagine a triplex, but doubled in size and available apartments. Likewise, you have the advantage of no one living above you. And because I live on the end of my building, I only share one wall with a neighbor. The best part of all is the beautiful view out the back which overlooks a saltwater bay and marina. Regardless, I would be lying if I said there weren’t any disadvantages to living here. Right now I’m frustrated with how difficult it is for me to swap out my air conditioner filters. My allergies to dust and pollen are in high swing right now, so I have been replacing my filters every three weeks. The problem with this regimen is that my air conditioner and its filter access point are both in my attic and are not easy to reach. Whenever I want to put in a clean air filter in my central HVAC system, I have to dodge cobwebs and rafters with old rusty nails sticking out. I wish the heating and cooling system was downstairs instead. At least filter replacements would be much easier.
