Our big vacation was coming up in just a few short weeks. We wanted to go someplace where we could get some skiing in and enjoy the scenery. We were tired of sitting in our home and seeing nothing but white. Yes, we were going someplace where we were still going to see white, but we could ski there. Our small piece of property wasn’t even big enough to get out and do some decent shovelling. When we headed out, it was a balmy 21 degrees on our front porch and the sun was glistening on the snow. We felt comfortable leaving our home, since we had recently installed a new Smart Thermostat. The Smart Thermostat had the ability to send us a text if there was a problem with the HVAC system. It would also send an alert to the HVAC company who would be able to repair the heating system before it becomes a huge problem. I can’t imagine anything worse than losing heating and coming home to a house that had icicles hanging inside. Pipes break during sub freezing temperatures, when the heating quits working. We didn’t expect our HVAC system to malfunction since it was new, but it is mechanical. You never know what is going to happen, but our new Smart Thermostat gave us some peace of mind. We could even do our own regular check-ups on the house while we were away. As long as we had WiFi, we were able to always have the ability to monitor our HVAC system through our smart thermostat.
