My family and I are not used to the heat and so when we went down south to visit our cousins and they did not have any air conditioning in their house, I thought that we weren’t going to make it through the trip! Of course, we did not want to be rude and complain about the indoor air quality inside of their house, but it was really hard to just sit there and sweat through our clothes.
It seemed like each day that we were there was hotter than the day before and we found ourselves going out to our car very often just so we could turn the air conditioning on and let it blow in our faces. I just don’t understand how people can live down in the southern part of the country and not have central air conditioning inside of their homes. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t know why people would not want to have air conditioning when they live in a climate that is as hot and humid as that one is. Also, the temperature where we’re from was in the 60s during the same week that we were down there and it was about 90 degrees. I had no idea that there was such a temperature difference between our two states! My family is just not used to the heat for us to go there to visit. I honestly do not think that we are going to be able to go back there again. At least, we will never plan a trip down there during the summer when the temperature is going to be hot.
