Last HVAC Article With a Couple Energy Saving Tips for You

Since we have all been getting really high electric bills lately, I have been doing some work on lowering mine and I have a couple tips for you. During the winter time you can spend a lot on your power bills if you aren’t careful. One way that I have found to lower my heating bills is to turn the smart thermostat way down, or even turn it off, when I am sleeping. It has made a big difference in my power bills each month doing this, and I offset the no heating during the night with a whole bunch of blankets on my bed. I sleep fine all night with a bunch of blankets, even when my central heating system is turned off the whole night and it is freezing outside. The body does a great job of keeping you warm if you have a lot of blankets on top of you, as the heat stays inside and keeps you warm all night. Also, I like to get into the cold bed with my clothes on and warm it up for half an hour before I take them off. This way the bed is nice and toasty, almost as if you have a space heater under the covers with you. I don’t like to jump into an ice cold bed with no clothes because it can be really cold and kind of wakes me up too much also. For the summertime, the best thing to lower the cooling bills is to use more ceiling fans and portable fans around the house. Good luck and stay comfortable.
