I am pretty hot in my family room at night here at my dad’s home so I am looking for ways to cool the room down.
I saw a dehumidifier in the basement so maybe I’ll provide that a shot and see if it helps myself and others sleep better.
My next step would be to buy a small window A/C component for the family room if this extra fan I bought doesn’t do the trick. That would make multiple ways I have of cooling down my room; A/C vent, ceiling fan, small desk fan, and a dehumidifier. My Dad doesn’t love to keep the home entirely too frosty at night. I do so because it is making it genuinely difficult to sleep at night as I am a hot sleeper. If I can’t sleep still then I am just going to buy one of those mini split a/cs at the store and then just sell it to someone who is in need. I genuinely don’t care at this point, I just want to get a nice night of sleep so I can function the next day. Maybe I could sneak down in the middle of the night and turn the smart thermostat down, but I am afraid I am going to freeze almost everyone out and cause a bunch of hassle with them. My sibling is here now and she also enjoys it warm in the room at night when she sleeps. I don’t even know how they do it! I love to have my programmable thermostat set to 72F each night when I go to sleep.
