I need a better air conditioner, mine isn’t performing

I’ve been living in my home for about 15 years now.

It has been a great home and hasn’t caused too many problems for me.

I’ve had the same HVAC system since I moved and- while the furnace is still doing great- the air conditioner is just about on its last legs. I regularly have my ductwork cleaned, so it was not really a surprise to me that the air conditioner went out. During my last ductwork cleaning, the HVAC technician had told me that the air conditioning unit was likely to give out. Well, the HVAC technician was absolutely right! I had already spoken with my HVAC provider about the type of air conditioner I would like when this one gave out. I had already picked out the replacement a/c unit with a great SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating. The old a/c unit was definitely keeping my monthly cooling bills higher, but- like my HVAC provider had told me- I didn’t have to worry about it for too long. Once my HVAC provider started discussing options with me, the subject of multi split air conditioning came up. It was, essentially, ductless air conditioning that was low profile and quieter. I liked the idea. That meant less ductwork cleaning for the HVAC technician (although, the furnace ductwork would still need to be cleaned) and less upkeep on my part. The other intriguing part was that the multi split air conditioning system would last a lifetime. It was more expensive, but I went ahead and sprung for it. I’m so glad I did! There is less upkeep, it’s much quieter and works great.
