My cousin has a one year old.
During her sons first year, she decided not to go to work. She was lucky to be able to stay home with her son for the first year of his life. When he turned one, he decided to get back to her career. Once she and her husband decided on a daycare, she went back to work. Although she was skeptical about leaving her son, who had come quite dependant on her, she knew that she would have to do it at some point in his life. She left and immediately received a call from the daycare facility to tell her that the central heating was out and that she would need to come pick him up if they were unable to repair the heating system in a timely manner. She waited a couple of hours, but the daycare never called back. She assumed that they were able to repair the heating system. She went about her day and did not contact the daycare. When she arrived to pick him up after work, she noticed that there were space heaters set up in daycare. She was very upset that the facility failed to mention to her that they would be using space heaters to heat the building, It is a known fact that space heaters are very unsafe, especially to use in a daycare with small children. She began to reconsider everything she thought she knew about this daycare. In the end, she kept her son in daycare and never had another issue.
