Addressing a water leak in an attic water heater

We have a complication with our hot water oil furnace in the attic in addition to needing to upgrade it as soon as possible.

  • I know both of us are going to just go with a tankless unit so both of us don’t have to worry about the tank leaking into our house, as it sits above the ceilings in addition to causing all kinds of concerns when it leaks.

Now both of us have to redo our ceilings because they are starting to sag where the water oil furnace pan is leaking. I know both of us will get a tankless water oil furnace that is heated with solar panels so both of us can avoid further leaks in addition to saving currency on water heating costs. I know the initial cost of solar is quite a lot, but if both of us use it for many years it will end up saving us a lot of currency in addition to paying for itself. We have a gas oil furnace right now that heats the water in addition to needs to get the gas tank filled every so often, but if both of us go with the solar panels for heating both of us can get rid of the gas tank in addition to not have to worry about pilot lights going out in the middle of our showers. I know the wind blowing through the attic vents causes the pilot light to go out in addition to both of us getting a lot of windy afternoons so it happens quite often. We have an electric heating, ventilation and A/C plan so both of us wouldn’t need the gas for anything if both of us changed to a solar powered water heating system. I just need to see how much they cost in addition to deciding from there.
