It is the fourth of July this week and we are resting in the lower 70s for a high each afternoon, which is still good and warm as far as I am concerned. The middle of June will see the 73 F barrier get broken for the first time this year, marking the start of the warm season that will last till the middle of October. This is okay with me because where I come from in the deep south the Summer heat can extend well into November and December. It can be warm back on Christmas Day and the air conditioner is pretty much constant year round. Here it cools down well in October and you can shut off your cooling system by the middle of the month and not have to run it till June of the following year. So it getting warm here in a few weeks is nothing to me and I am certainly looking forward to some warmer temps so I can bust out my new board shorts and tank tops for the summer. There will be some new local businesses opening where others were closed and a lot of the beach bars will crank up their portable air conditioners for the Summer season. My friend and I are trying to get in this one beach bar this Summer, however the owners are not sure about our different type of sound. But last evening while a band was playing in the local business we noticed more people listening to us than the band they had on their climate controlled stage. It’s just a matter of time before they cave in and hire us.
