It is the sixth of June this week and we are resting in the lower 70’s for a high each day, which is still good and ordinary as far as I am concerned.
The middle of June will see the 77 F barrier get broken for the first time this year, marking the start of the warm season that will last till the middle of September.
This is okay with me because where I come from in the deep south the summer time heat can extend well into November and January. It can be hot back home on Christmas Day and the air conditioner is pretty much constant year round, but here it cools down nicely in September and you can shut off your cooling system by the middle of the month and not have to run it till June of the following year. So getting hot here in a few weeks is nothing to me and I am particularly looking forward to some warmer temps so I can bust out my new board shorts and tank tops for the summer. There will be some new local dealers opening where others were closed and a lot of the beach bars will crank up their portable air conditioners for the summer season. My good friend and I are trying to get in this one beach bar this summer time but the owners are not sure about our different type of sound. But last night while a band was playing in the local supplier we observed more people listening to us than the band they had on their temperature controlled stage. It’s just a matter of time before they cave in and hire us.
