Working out is a priority

Eating healthy food has never been an issue for me.

  • We always had a huge vegetable garden when I was growing up.

We grew lettuce, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, peas, peppers, squash, beans and so much more. My mom and dad insisted on a healthy diet. We didn’t eat any processed foods. I learned good nutritional habits. I also follow a balanced fitness program to take good care of my body. I eat right, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep. I start my day with a workout. Every morning, I exercise for approximately sixty minutes. Even on especially hectic days, I workout. If I have trouble sleeping and feel sluggish in the morning, I still workout. I don’t make excuses. I treat my fitness program the same way I treat brushing my teeth and putting on deodorant. It’s something I do every single day. I always feel so much better afterward. After I get my heart pounding, my lungs working and work up a sweat, I will have a more productive day. My workouts effectively battle fatigue, headaches and stress. They keep me strong and energized. I don’t worry about gaining weight. I focus on cardio exercise, strength training, range of motion, flexibility and balance. I incorporate all different types of exercise including weight lifting, push ups, ab crunches, lunges and jumping rope. Not every workout is equally beneficial. There are days when I need to force myself to get through it. There are other days when I force myself to quit after an hour.
