Too much work

Plus, if I had worked on weekends, I would be so burnt out on heating and air conditioning that I would probably end up quitting the HVAC business and going to school to find a new career in something else this late in life

I work for a local heating and air conditioning company, and recently the company I work for ended up taking on work overflow from another heating and air conditioning company here in town. Sort of like a temporary partnership. It is both good and bad. The good thing is that it means we as HVAC workers have more work, and the heating and cooling company pays us more for these extra jobs. The bad side is that in reality, this is just too much work. A lot of us have felt overworked and underpaid because of what’s been going on in the course of a day. They requested a lot of us heat and a/c workers work overtime, and I was not one of the ones that would agree to do that. I have a family and I need to spend time with them on the weekends. Although the extra money would be nice, my family is more important to me. Plus, if I had worked on weekends, I would be so burnt out on heating and air conditioning that I would probably end up quitting the HVAC business and going to school to find a new career in something else this late in life. And that would not be a good thing for me or my family. So I simply just will not give in to their overtime. I do hope that sometime soon this temporary partnership of work overflow comes to an end and things are back to normal at the heating and air conditioning company I have worked for all these years!
