Too blazing hot to have fun outdoors

I just didn’t realize how blazing hot it is in the South when I planned our family vacation.

We made the decision to go to a large theme park down there and had a 5 day pass! Let me tell you, it was scorching hot, humid, and uncomfortable! To make matters worse, the lines for the rides were terribly long.

The first days I just managed to work it out with the kids but was legitimately grateful for the A/C equipment in the little gift shops and restaurants throughout the park. It was easy to feel the cooling air from the A/C in the buildings as I walked by. Periodically I went into the shops and looked around just to cool off for a few minutes or so. At the end of every day, I was enthusiastic to get back to our hotel room and relax with the A/C equipment every one of us chose to leave on. By the third day, I had enough and I left my fiance with the kids while I simply took it easy in a single one of the many restaurants with relaxing A/C in the theme park. Of course, I knew we were going to change things back up on the fourth day. I had to sit out in the heat with the kids all over again. But on day 5, I didn’t even leave from the comfort of the A/C in the hotel room. I sent my fiance out while I was able to appreciate the air conditioned room and read books for the remainder of the day. It was beautiful. The kids never seemed to notice the overwhelming heat and they had a really great time. I am blissful every one of us were able to go on this trip but I wish I had arranged it at a cooler time of the year.
