My wife and I haven’t planned a vacation together since before the coronavirus started.
Both of us needed to get out of the house for a while, so we made plans to drive to the shore for a three day weekend.
It was difficult to work the entire week before the vacation, because I was so excited. On Thursday, I remember thinking there was only one more day until vacation was about to begin. I requested Friday off work, and my boss was happy to give me a 3-day weekend without any heating or air conditioning system repairs. In fact, my boss let me go early on Thursday. Instead of scheduling me for a lengthy air conditioner repair or replacement, my boss scheduled me for a few easy tune-up calls and a couple of follow-ups. I was finished by 2 p.m. and my boss told me to go home and have a great weekend. My wife did not get home from work until after 6, but she was pleasantly surprised to see all of our bags packed and ready to go. I did not tell her that I got home early, so I could surprise her with the good news. We left shortly after she took a shower and we didn’t stop until we reached our destination. All three days that we spent at the shore we’re very relaxing and filled with fun activities. We spent much of the day at the beach and we had dinner at several different restaurants that were local favorites and places well known by the local people.
