I wanted to fix the furnace on my own

I don’t have a lot of money and I don’t earn a lot of money. When something breaks, I try to fix it before I call a professional. Since the age of the internet, it is a lot easier to fix things at home. There are helpful websites and instructional videos to help a homeowner complete nearly every task. When I had a problem with the furnace, I immediately looked online for help with the problem. I quickly realized that the issue was probably the flame sensor. It is a small part of the furnace that is really important. I felt confident after watching several videos that I would be able to replace the part without any help. Unfortunately, I had to order the part from an appliance store and it took three days for the part to arrive. I didn’t want to go three days without any heat, so I had to call the professional to make the change. They had the part in stock of course, but they wouldn’t sell just the part. The only way they would sell the part is with an installation service appointment. I was frustrated, but I figured it was the universe’s way of telling me to call a professional. Since I knew the problem and how to solve it, they didn’t have to evaluate or troubleshoot the system, so they only charged me a small $99 fee for the part and the installation service fee. I wanted to do the work on my own, but it was a lot less hassle to have someone else fix the furnace.
