Contemporary condo theme for a retired couple

My wife and I have retired and recently moved down south. We have more money saved than we know what to do with. My wife has always wanted to decorate the home with a theme in mind, so I told her to call an interior designer. At first I was afraid about what she was going to do to the condo. The interior designer showed us tons of themes that had me cringing inside. French provincial manor was way too classy for a beach condo. Desert eclectic home was too brown and red for my taste. Southwest style was just plain hideous in my opinion. Thankfully the designer and my wife choose a style that is way more modern. The style is called contemporary condo and it is right up my alley. The colors are not as flashy and the place looks way more clean like. The furniture pieces are in light fabrics that are comfortable. We don’t have any large paintings, weird knick knacks or ugly throw pillows either. The designer has been great about making the condo look like a man also lives in the home. What I especially liked is that she recommended a custom furniture maker to build a cabinet to hold all my old fishing gear. The guy made the cabinet out of hardwood and each fishing pole fits perfectly in it. My tackle box has an exact spot that it fits. The gear is easy to access, see and appreciate. It is my favorite part of the new condo we are in. My wife is more in love with our theme.
