I run an industrial factory and the main source of power in the plant is boilers.
We have three large boilers that provide electricity and steam power for all of the equipment and the plant.
The boiler also runs the heaters. We had a problem with the main boiler last weekend, so we rented a compact boiler to help things run more smoothly. We could have run the plant on to boilers, but I was worried that we wouldn’t generate enough power. Unfortunately, none of the suppliers in this area have compact boilers available for rent. I had to call a supplier that was out of state. I had to wait for the supplier to deliver the compact boiler, before we could actually start repairing the problem. The supplier was backed up, but they promised that my equipment would arrive before Monday morning. The delivery didn’t come Monday and it didn’t come on Tuesday either. On Wednesday I decided to call the company and I filed a formal complaint. The next day, an 18 wheeler truck brought the compact boiler and dropped it off. I don’t know what was taking a long time, but they sure moved a lot faster after I started to complain and make threats. I was perfectly fine waiting a day or two longer to relieve shipment, because shipments are often delayed, After three days, I had to deal with another contractor. That guy wasn’t willing to wait a week. I got lucky that he didn’t charge me for the 4 day delay. I would have sent that bill directly to the shipping company.
