My favorite thing about going to visit my grandparents is the feeling I get when I am in their home.
It feels like home and it feels so cozy and comfortable. This is my favorite place to go for the holidays because I just love the feeling I get when I am there with them. They always decorate so much for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter and it is truly the place that my entire family can come together and be with each other. We can all take a break from our busy lives and just be with the people who have done so much for us and make us want to come back every time. My Grandma’s cooking is like no other and cannot be matched so I am sure that has to do with it too. They have this huge fireplace that we all sit in front of and just talk and enjoy each others’ company. The fireplace uses real logs that my grandfather chops himself and the fire in it lasts so long and you can’t beat the feeling you get sitting in front of it. He always warns us not to sit too close, because there have been some instances where it has burned people, but we are very careful when we are around it. The kids have a rule where they can only sit near it when there is a grown-up sitting by it, but they also have to sit further back than any of the adults. This is to keep them safe and I remember when I was included in that category, I think it is this fireplace that makes me want a home with one of my own. So I can sit in front of it with my family and so that I will always have the memories of doing this same thing with my family forever.
