My dog tried to eat the furnace in my basement, and I was very frustrated. I never even though to worry about the furnace while my dog was in the basement. We allow the dog to be in the basement often, and he has never tried to ruin the furnace before, so we kind of ignored it. My dog has a ton of toys in the basement, so I didn’t think that he would even think about the furnace. However, I didn’t realize how scared my dog would become of the thunderstorm. Normally, the dog just runs around during a storm, but we have never left him in the basement. We were afraid that he would ruin the door to the basement, but we realized that it was so much worse when the furnace wasn’t running the following morning. We tried to adjust the thermostat, but it was obvious that there was nothing wrong with the thermostat. When I went downstairs, it was obvious what the dog had done to the furnace to ruin it. The furnace sits alone in a room, and thankfully, the dog couldn’t really ruin the parts of the furnace that were covered by metal. However, the dog destroyed the drywall next to the furnace, and he ripped all of the wires out of the furnace. It was honestly a miracle that the dog didn’t die while biting the wires for the furnace. Well, now I have to either call an HVAC technician or an electrician to get my furnace working again. I guess that I can’t leave my dog alone with the furnace.
