I would prefer to workout outdoors

I live in an area that experiences very extreme weather conditions.

We usually have snow on the ground on both halloween and Easter.

The winter weather lingers for six to eight months, with temperatures often dropping below freezing. It’s not unheard of for us to endure temperatures down to twenty-five below zero and the wind chill makes it dangerous to spend time outdoors. The spring and fall seasons are typically rainy, muddy and cold. Summer doesn’t last long but brings temperatures in the upper eighties with high humidity. Whenever possible, I prefer to handle my daily workout outdoors. I like to run, ride my bike or unroll my yoga mat on the back deck. I would rather lift weights and do my ab crunches, lunges and squats outside. I like feeling the sun on my skin and breathing fresh air. I’ve invested into clothing specially designed to combat weather extremes. I have gear that is lightweight but retains body heat and other outfits that wick away moisture. I’m still forced indoors the majority of the time. I’ve needed to set up a dedicated workout area in the house. I’ve invested in a treadmill, stationary bike, weight bench, free weights, resistance bands, jump rope and kettlebells. I appreciate having the ability to adjust the thermostat and avoid rain, wind, humidity and icy pavement. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on my home gym. However, I just don’t think I get as good of a workout when I’m stuck inside. I am not as motivated. It’s more difficult to push myself.
