Early snow makes it difficult to get my HVAC fixed soon.

A snowfall in September! We didn’t even get a chance to schedule the furnace’s annual checkup or dig out our winter clothes before we got a snowfall! I’m sure the snow won’t last, at least I hope not, because our HVAC system doesn’t seem to be working as well as it should be. At least something isn’t working as well as it should because the house is staying chilly, no matter how high I turn the heat up.I set the thermostat on 70 degrees a couple of days ago and it still won’t get warmer than 60 degrees in the house and the warm air is barely blowing through the registers. So, I called the HVAC service and supply company that we usually use and tried to book an appointment. I was told that they are backed up and it would be at least three weeks before we could get an HVAC technician out here. I tried calling around to other HVAC companies and they are all backed up. In our area, it’s almost time to have your furnace inspected and serviced for the upcoming winter season. It turns out, as soon as it got cold, everybody was calling for maintenance services as well as people like us calling in need of repairs. One HVAC company did tell me that if the cold and snow continue, they will postpone making routine maintenance calls and focus on repairs. That doesn’t help us now. Fortunately, I have some space heaters, and some winter clothes, I can pull out in the interim.
